Here are a few cool things especially for men! Women are usually more likey to indulge in pampering themselves than men are. Men should follow suit, not worry about what anyone thinks and enjoy a relaxing day, whether it’s shopping or at the spa and get something new everyone once in a while that makes them feel a little fashionable. Here are a few ideas to get you started.
The Art of Shaving has some fantastic brushes, razors and gift sets. I’ve always been partial to the shaving brush, since that’s what my daddy used and let me paint his cheeks with when I was a little monkey.
Spas now cater to men more than ever before, and luckily there are great ones no matter where you live or travel. SpaFinder recommends a few of the top choices, including one for all my San Diego friends!
The spa at the beautiful Pinehurst in North Carolina offers manly treatments like the “Sportsman Manicure” and “Golfer’s Massage.” They also offer Grooms’ packages for feeling wonderful the week and day of your wedding! It’s your day too, guys!
At the Doral Resort in Miami, Florida the beautiful people can get groomed, shaved and and exfoliated before hitting the golf course or one of those hot celebrity-filled all-night beach parties we Coloradoans only hear about on the radio.
The Spa at The Lodge at Torrey Pines in San Diego, CA has those fabulous couples’ massages, as well as a unique cobblestone massage using warm and cool basalt stones. They also offer a series of “rituals,” 140 minute treatments that combine scrubs, gels, baths and massages. These treats + golf and tennis have to be the ultimate way to de-stress from a long week, then may I suggest meeting a date for dinner and drinks in La Jolla to top off a fantastic day.
And sorry to break the news guys, but even according to GQ, “Your underpants shouldn’t be funny. They shouldn’t have jokes on them. They shouldn’t have hearts, cigars, flying pigs, superhero logos, or anything else gag-related.” You can grab some that are at least not offensively ugly at Ross, but be sure to grab at least a few really nice ones at Nordstrom, or check out Baskit.
This Jasper shirt from Prana will look as great on the hiking trail as it will paired with loafers in the pub. It’s worth investing in a few pieces of clothing that are comfortable and do double duty between work and play. Plus, you can trust so many of the outdoor companies like Prana, Patagonia, and [new to me] Nau to bring you more sustainable alternatives to the status quo.
If your wallet is throwing off your spinal alignment like it did to George Costanza, you might want to consider paring it down. Especially for a night out, it’s nice to just have what you need and not much more. Here’s just the [eco friendly] thing. It’s another buy that does double duty- you can tie it to your kayak or backpack so as not to lose your beer money, and then tuck it in your shirt pocket out at the club.
