Or a stack of books! Lots of times on vacation when my friends are out skiing, snowboarding, waterskiing, drinking or anything else, I am the one most likley to be enjoying the solitude of napping in front of the cabin’s big sunny windows between marathon reading sessions. It’s not that I don’t like being social, but sometimes I just love being quiet, especially on vacation. Other people who like to be quiet are always welcome to join me, but it hardly ever happens. 🙂
Here are some incredible places I have found that make me want to hit the used bookstore with my man and my puppy for a big bag of tattered reads and design mags and then retreat to a mountain cabin for a couple days consisting of literary hibernation and occasional breaks for baking and day hikes.
