This is a space built using beautiful materials, and with a mindful emphasis on wise use of space. It has all the essentials- kitchen, dining, living, bath and bed… in 200 square feet.
I love the description given by the architects, Oslo-based Rintala Eggertsson; this is exactly how I would describe what I want in a home:
…a peaceful small home, a kind of urban cave, where a person can withdraw to, and whenever they wish, forget the intensity of the surrounding city for a while.
The simple rooms, sparse furnishing, and sleek cladding all make a statement echoing the architects’ belief that homes should be smaller- eliminating a large toll on the environment- both in building, and also in heating, cooling and otherwise maintaining the home.
