Arguably the most beautiful woman in the world, Dita Von Teese is fascinating in more ways than one. She’s dazzlingly gorgeous in her red lipstick and glamorous gowns, and she’s undeniably unique with her black hair and classic lingerie. Yes, I’d love to read that she gets her porcelain skin from a vegan diet and natural makeup, but alas, she goes the more traditional beauty route. However she does credit her lean figure and healthy skin to a clean diet and she’s been spotted at raw vegan hotspot Cru Silverlake as have Tobey Maguire, Russell Brand, Kirsten Dunst, and Katherine Heigl. Also notable on her eco-social chic resume- she was a spokesmodel for MAC Cosmetics’ Viva Glam VI campaign, a collection of lipsticks where 100% of the proceeds go to worldwide charities forHIV/AIDS. I actually bought one of the lipsticks back then even though they are expensive considering I don’t really wear lipstick, but I wanted to support the line.
Dita has campaigned on behalf of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) and appeared in their ads despite their disapproval of her vintage fur collection and the fact that she eats meat- and then they found out it’s not just any meat, but foie gras which is known for being the epitome of animal cruelty. It is sad that she admits that one of her guilty pleasures is eating foie gras in Paris, but I don’t judge her for it. We all make choices from time to time that we aren’t proud of, and hey, maybe she’ll come around someday. It’s also pretty awesome that she’s so down to earth- she doesn’t use a stylist, does her own makeup, and even continues to dye and curl her own hair because she enjoys the girly beautification process.
