DelysiaStyle is a blog dedicated to eclectic interior design & architecture as well as furniture, fashion, entertaining and all things fresh and inspiring. You’ll also get business and personal motivation, links to wonderful things I find that I must share with you all, and the latest designer trends from Rodeo Drive to Reykjavik.
DelysiaDiet grew into a site in its own right out of my love for health and fitness, raw food, holistic medicine, and natural living. Recipes, tips, ideas, product reviews, reports of my travels and adventures and more can be found here.
The blog is named in honor of a character in the fabulous movie Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day. Delysia (de-liss-ee-a) is a cheerful, adorable young woman who learns who she is and how to be true to herself as the film progresses, but is gorgeously stylish and confident from start to finish, something we can all admire.
As creator and editor of DelysiaStyle and DelysiaDiet, I combine some of my various passions and skills. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from the Art Institute of California and have worked in the design industry in various capacities, but also enjoy traveling and trying my hand at new challenges. I have a bit of a problem- but it’s a wonderful problem. Some people take time refining their passion into one pin point laser beam. I, on the other hand, can’t seem to handle that and have been adding and adding to my list of obsessions- which is fun, but it is difficult to get very far in any one direction! C’est la vie. I’m an inspiration addict, it could be worse. Even my best friends are surprised from one conversation to the next how much I can change in a week or so. And so I found my perfect passion- blogging about all of it to figure it out and share it in the meantime!
I’m from San Diego and love it there very much. My husband, Joel and I reside in the Denver area, and are currently spending the summer in Southeast Alaska where we contribute to a family business on Joel’s side.
Joel has just launched a business, Kale Monkey Web Development, offering comprehensive web services including development, design, coding, and social media consulting. When we aren’t tapping away at our keyboards, we enjoy cooking, hiking, and playing with our puppy, Ginger.
